Update: Tecno Droid Pad 8H has SMS/MMS and Hotspot capabilities.
Tecno is here again with the Droidpad 8H which promises to be a device to have. Just when you thought that they were being kicked off the market by better competitors, Tecno mobile which is one of the earliest Chinese phone makers to discover the largeness of the Nigerian mobile market has presented a tab that is worth the pay (from the specifications). Body:
The Tecno 8H Droidpad is an 8 inch screen tablet. The body is made of plastic material.
The tab can be said to be quite slim by the sides. As it features 8.7mm body.
Display:
The 8H has 8 inches IPS screen.
Memory: 8H has 16GB inbuilt memory and 1 GB RAM. The tab supports SD card (Not specified yet but should be up to 32GB)
Processor: The Tecno Droidpad 8 comes with 1.32 Quadcore Mediatek 8283M processor.
Camera: The Tecno 8H has a back camera of 5 megapixels and a front camera of 2MP. The back camera has flashlight, Geotagging and Autofocus. Both cameras snap and record.
Internet:
2G, GSM: 900/1800 MHz
2G CDMA 1X: Null
3G, WCDMA: 900/2100MHz
3G, CDMA EVDO: Null
No 4G LTE
Connectivity and Internet:
The Droidpad 8H has GPRS, EDGE and 3G/WCDMA/HSPA bands but has no HSPA+, CDMA EVDO nor 4G LTE ( These are actually made for high end devices for now and besides you may not even need them).
8H has Wifi. The WLAN is 802.11 b/g/n.
It has bluetooth 4.0.
Tecno Droidpad has HDMI port compatibility for connectivity with TVs.
It has no infarred.
The USB port is Micro USB 2.0
And finally... Yeah I kept the best for the last.
Operating System: The Tecno Droidpad 8H is actually the first Tecno device to feature the Android 5.0 lollipop operating system. It is not known whether it can be upgraded to 5.1 or not (Tecno has not been known to support upgrades, one can only hope they will make a change on this)
Battery: The Tecno 8H features a massive 5100mAH battery. This is actually the major selling point of this device. Of course any phone maker that want to breakthrough in the African ( especially Nigerian) mobile market must present devices with long loasting batteries. 5100 is nice and should last up to 3 days of normal use.
Tecno 8H Droidpad Price in Nigeria: N30,000 (Jumia). It might be higher at local shops.
